Account Manager – Private Medical Insurance (PMI)

My client who are based in Winnersh are looking for an Account Manager to join their team. We are looking for candidates who have got experience and knowledge working within Private Medical Insurance or PMI or Healthcare Insurance. The ideal candidate will have a confident telephone manner and will be able to build strong working relationships with an existing base of clients.

Daily Duties

Contact each client prior to renewal by letter, advise them of holding insurers renewal terms, and establish whether their requirements remain the same or have changed since last renewal.

Building a working relationship with Clients and Insurers.

Building a working relationship with key contacts at the Affinity Partners and their support staff.

Handle client queries, claims / invoice issues, chasing membership packs, certificates, membership lists in order to provide a high level service to clients that is valued and strengthens the client relationship.

Develop and maintain understanding of invoice processing from insurers/providers.

Chase clients for outstanding payments and be able to explain how their premiums have been calculated and what is owed and in cases where a client has cancelled their direct debit contact them to save the business.

Handle client amendments such as joiners & leavers, changes of address, tracking their progress and confirming to clients, providing premiums if required.

Input notes on all business, new/retention into database on a daily basis.

Liaise with other team members providing additional support where required.

Ensure relevant paperwork is on file to ensure compliant process is complete.

The role focuses primarily on Private Medical Insurance, but some travel insurance work may be undertaken from time to time

Essential criteria

Experience within the Financial Services / General Insurance market / Private Medical Insurance experience preferable.

Experience in relationship building with Insurers/Providers, Clients and Account Managers preferable.

Experienced in using Microsoft Office Programs.

Cert CII IF7, or willingness to study towards qualification.

Personable telephone manner

Professional, customer focussed approach internally and externally when dealing with colleagues and distribution partners

Well organised and able to respond well under pressure and meeting deadlines

Working well as part of a team as well as being able to work for periods using own initiative

Copes well with change, internally within the business and externally within the market
