Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant
Location: Fleet
Salary: £28,000 – £34,000
Hours: Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm
My client in Fleet are a well established firm who are looking for a Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant to join their team and provide accounting support to clients.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in Bookkeeping/Accounting and excellent customer service skills.
Daily Duties:
Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software or databases then scanning / filing hard copies.
Liaising with clients and raising their sales invoices.
Paying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances.
Completing VAT returns.
Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Accountant of errors.
Recording any inconsistencies to help the Accountant reconcile inaccuracies.
Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets & monthly management reports.
Helping the Accountant with administrative duties and preparing yearly accounts.
Accurately collate and process payroll data provided by clients.
Manage employee expense claims for clients.
Annual Confirmation Statement – Checking and amending details and filing.
Notification of share changes / Director changes.
Issue of new shares.
Changes of Registered Office.
General Admin duties including: Opening and distributing of daily post, maintaining and ordering of office supplies and maintain archived records.
Travel required to provide onsite bookkeeping assistance for some clients.
Person Specification:
AAT level 3 / 4 or equivalent is essential.
Substantial Bookkeeping / Accounting experience.
Good attention to detail and mathematics skills for accurate record-keeping.
Computer literacy, especially familiarity with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Excel spreadsheets/databases and Microsoft Office.
Multi-tasking, organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines.
Interpersonal and customer service skills.
Communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial matters in accessible terms.
Driving License required.
