Deskside Support Technician

Location : Guildford

Salary : £35,000 – £40,000 + benefits

My client is a big International Business within the Medical sector that produce Medical devices/equipment such as Custom Knee Braces, Hip Implants, Shock Therapy, Spine Bracing just to name a few. They have offices in the UK and America and have many sectors within the business such as products for Surgical use, Bracing & Vascular or Recovery Science (e.g. Shock Wave Therapy).

The Role

We are looking for an individual passionate about technology to work as a Deskside Support Technician. You must be experienced in End User Support, EUC infrastructure, O-365, Image management, Printers/Scanner support, Bar Code scanners and Label Printers.

Your responsibilities include providing Desktop Support – Interact and support end users with technical issues and requests via remote control support, telephone calls and desk side visits

Image Management – Contribute to the creation of image for Windows 10 using Intune and AutoPilot (Beneficial if you have previous experience in KACE/SCCM)

Mobile Device Support – Configure, test and deploy mobile devices controlled via Apple, Google Play and Microsoft Intune for End Users

Hardware Support – Unbox, configure, test, deploy and troubleshoot Laptop/Desktop/EUC Hardware running Window as well as monitors, printers and scanners

Software Support – Deploy, install and troubleshoot company software, utilising desktop and mobile device management tools. Assist and train users on applications such as Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Oracle is a plus

Infrastructure Support – Provide Tier 2 support of networking, wireless networking, home networking, VPN, software packaging, multi-factor authentication, VDIs, virtual machines, threat management and operating system deployment

Service Level Compliance – Acknowledge and resolve assigned tasks, incidents and changes to SLAs and KPIs

You’ll essentially be the Go To Person for all kinds of technical issues that may arise within the company and provide support to the team by ensuring all IT equipment is working smoothly


Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and/or equivalent formal training or work experience

6+ years of relevant experience in Microsoft solutions, Windows and Mac hardware, HP printers, IT security tools like anti-virus/malware, encryption, back-up, etc.
