Paraplanner

Location : Farnborough/Hybrid/Remote

Salary £35,000 – £45,000 + benefits + bonus

My client are looking for an experienced Paraplanner to join their team. The head office is in Farnborough, Hampshire but they are able to consider candidates on a hybrid or fully remote basis. We are looking for candidates who have got experience working with DB Pensions (Defined Benefits). The Paraplanning department is a centralised team who prepare draft suitability reports on behalf of the Private Client Advisers and for Pension Liability Management (PLM) projects. This particular position is focused in PLM and providing Defined Benefit advice only.

Daily Duties

This role involves report writing across the options available, as such we expect Paraplanners to be fluent in Defined Benefit Transfer advice, Drawdown advice, recommending Annuities, Scheme pensions, Defined Contribution with GMP/RST pension plans.

Reviewing PLM fact-finds against defined Compliance guidelines to make sure ALL aspects of the client financial needs are clearly documented, challenging the adviser where appropriate to enable them to research suitable advice options based on the information provided

As part of this the role holder will be expected to challenge gaps and justifications with advisers where appropriate

To prepare draft suitability reports within an agreed timescale for the client based on the information received/researched, for final approval by the adviser

Excellent planning and organisation skills will be required with the ability to analyse and document client needs clearly in a timely manner to meet agreed service levels to ensure that we are operating a commercial service plus meeting personal targets

The Paraplanner should have a good rapport with the advisers and feel comfortable challenging for additional information where appropriate.

The adviser will sign off the report and its enclosures for issue to the client first time every time with the Paraplanner receiving regular compliments on performance, timescales and quality of advice.

To review and quality check PLM fact-finds to ensure the information provided allows you to conduct fund and product research for the advisers

To set down financial planning advice for each client using the information provided to draft a recommendation report, meeting monthly targets

Liaise with advisers on a regular basis, challenging areas where missing or additional information is required to support the client requirements

Skillset & Knowledge

Defined Benefit Transfer knowledge essential

Practical knowledge of financial planning, pensions, investments, wealth, management, life assurance, tax matters and corporate financial advice

Financial Services experience is essential obtained in a life and pensions environment.

Experience writing Defined Benefit advice reports is essential (minimum of 1 year)
