Warehouse Assistant (Service Tech/Picker-Packer)

Location : Guildford

Salary : £21,000 + benefits

Hours : 8am – 5pm (Monday to Friday)

My client is a big International Business within the Medical sector that produce Medical devices/equipment such as Custom Knee Braces, Hip Implants, Shock Therapy, Spine Bracing just to name a few. They have offices in the UK and America and have many sectors within the business such as products for Surgical use, Bracing & Vascular or Recovery Science (e.g. Shock Wave Therapy).

This is a leading international developer, manufacturer and distributor of high-quality medical devices that provide solutions for musculoskeletal health, vascular health and pain management. Their products address patient care from injury prevention to rehabilitation after surgery, injury or from degenerative disease, enabling people to regain or maintain their natural motion whether there is injury to their arm, leg or spine. This is technology-driven healthcare and their aim is to keep people moving regardless of injury.

They have over 5,000 employee’s and over 1000+ medical devices.

The Role

Split Role, Learning the supply and sourcing side of the business during the mornings alongside the Inventory Controller and afternoons working in the warehouse assisting with Picking & Packing orders.

Primary Role (As Required):

  • Fulfil customer orders by picking products in accordance with pick slips, using scanners but with attention to detail, to minimise errors
  • Packaging orders appropriately ensuring correct packing is selected and ensures labeling is carefully added to the package.
  • Ensures any computer input is completed accurately.
  • Adheres to customer and company deadlines.
  • Follows procedures as laid down by the company or as stipulated by the Team Leader
  • Ensures full compliance with health and safety requirements in particular in relation to use of equipment, most particularly any fork lift or cherry picker.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and tidy work environment

Secondary Role (As Required):

  • Handle Customer Repairs in a timely manner, investigate faults, make straight forward component swap/repairs, clean, test and process Service Requests in Oracle charging customers for the repairs when out of warranty.
  • Help develop repair process for Class 4 Laser devices
  • Help develop repair process for Venaflow DVT compression pumps
  • Order Spare Parts as required with from the Inventory controller
  • Ensures any computer input is completed accurately.
  • Follows procedures as laid down by the company or as stipulated by the Team Leader
  • Ensures full compliance with health and safety requirements in particular in relation to use of test equipment, electricity, and laser devices.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and tidy work environment
  • Any other duties as required within the office/warehouse environment

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Some past Electrical/Electronic device repair experience desirable
  • Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks.
  • Accurate with attention to detail
  • Energetic and able to lift moderate weights.
  • Positive attitude with enthusiasm and problem-solving mindset to tackle multiple tasks
  • Any prior experience in medical devices/surgical implants an advantage
  • SAP/Oracle Experience Beneficial
