Social Media Manager

Location: Surrey (Hybrid – 4 days in-office pattern with flexible working options. 5 days in probation)

Reports to: Head of Client Services Direct Reports: Currently 2

Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 per annum depending on experience

As our social media client base grows, we’re now looking for a confident, strategic, and delivery-focused Senior Social Media Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering social media campaigns, mentoring team members, and building strong relationships with clients.

Role Overview

The Senior Social Media Manager will lead the day-to-day planning and delivery of social media campaigns across multiple clients, with a strong focus on content performance, strategic thinking, and account growth. We operate a blended team with our account management and social media teams so you will be reporting into the Head of Client Services. This role requires a confident communicator with the ability to balance creativity, data insight, and commercial awareness.

You’ll manage 2 team members and work closely with wider account teams to ensure our social work delivers clear value to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Campaign Planning & Strategy
  • Develop and implement social media strategies for client accounts, aligned to their wider marketing objectives.
  • Translate briefs into engaging and effective content plans across relevant platforms.
  • Stay informed on platform updates and best practices to ensure strategic recommendations are current and impactful.
  • Client Management
  • Act as the day-to-day client lead for social accounts, building trust and proactively identifying ways to add value.
  • Present content calendars, performance updates, and strategic recommendations with clarity and confidence.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to integrate social media within broader marketing activity.
  • Team Leadership
  • Line manage and support the team (currently 2 reports), providing structure, feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Contribute to a positive, high-performing culture within the social team.

 

 

  • Support resource planning, briefing freelancers or internal collaborators where needed.
  • Performance, Insight & Reporting
  • Oversee social media performance tracking and reporting across platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, etc.).
  • Use data insight to refine future activity and improve content effectiveness.
  • Maintain an eye on KPIs tied to client goals, providing clear explanations and recommendations.
  • Content Oversight
  • Review and approve content created by the team, ensuring tone, creativity, and relevance are consistently high.
  • Where necessary, create and schedule content using tools such as Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social, or Hootsuite.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and platform best practices.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Solid experience in a social media management role within agency (min 2 years).
  • Demonstrable success planning and delivering multi-platform social campaigns that drive engagement and results.
  • Strong knowledge of paid and organic social tactics across Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, and emerging platforms.
  • Confident managing client relationships and presenting ideas and results with clarity.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring team.
  • Strong copywriting skills, with an eye for both creative and detail.
  • Familiarity with social management tools (e.g. Sprout, Hootsuite, Meta Suite) and reporting dashboards.

 

Desirable

  • Experience working across multiple sectors or managing multiple client accounts.
  • Involvement in social campaign planning with paid media teams or content designers.
  • CIM, IDM or similar digital marketing training or accreditation.
