Hire Controller

Location: Cardiff

Salary: £29,000 – £31,000 + quarterly bonus

Hours: day-time working hours

Permanent, onsite

My client is appointing a Hire Controller for their energetic team based in Cardiff due to a recent expansion, working both internally, operationally and directly with customers.

You will be focusing on improving customer service delivery, responsible for the smooth running of the hire desk and control of all hires coming in and out of the depot.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage operations to meet agreed service delivery levels in an efficient, personable and professional manner

Oversee and manage local fleet stock levels and work closely with internal teams to ensure local and network fleet supply is maximised to support business objectives

Undertake internal review and audit of local contract activity to support quality management within local team and in line with company process expectations

Locally oversee and quality manage the new contracts and off-hires activity within local depot and support general enquiries in line with company process standards

Support central logistics team to ensure the efficient running of local and central transport to support a high-quality service delivery resource to our clients

Responsible for (in conjunction with the central teams) the Re-hire allocation; identifying and prioritizing customer requirements to maximise business growth opportunities

Handle and manage incoming external / internal calls and sales enquiries to support local team as required

Provide rate support to local team when Depot Manager is unavailable

Support identification of new business opportunities from inbound enquiries and work with local and regional teams to secure new business wins in line with company sales growth goals

Opportunity to be involved in developing existing and new customer accounts through outbound sales activity

Support and achieve delivery of sales growth targets for all products and services.

 

Experience/Skills

Demonstratable experience within a construction, plant and tool or similar hire operations role is essential.

Negotiating and time management skills (essential)

Proven experience in selling products & services to end user

Competent levels of IT understanding

Effective organisational and communication skills

Capable of developing strong client relationships

Confidence to work on own initiative

Good planning and preparation skills

Flexible in approach to the role to meet business requirements
